Maddy is Wonderful!
Dear Lee,
What a wonderful puppy she is!  Sweet, affectionate, cuddly and delicious!  The flight arrived early, and we had made arrangements with a representative to meet her at the airplane…and bring her right to the cargo area…The attendants were so lovely.  The plane landed twenty minutes early, and she was with us within about 20ish minutes from touchdown.    We sat with her on the floor for about ˝ hour and then put her leash on and went outside…She immediately went to the bathroom…She was fabulous on the drive home, didn’t get sick, cry or anything.  The children and I sat with her and cuddled her the whole trip.   She seems to be perking up a little bit now…It’s about 6:30 p.m. here.  She hasn’t really eaten anything…I put her bowl of food down about 20ish minutes ago, and she doesn’t seem at all interested yet.
She is a wonderfully sweet loving puppy, and we all thank you so very much!
Warmest regards,
Wendy, Marc, Shira and Jared

Recommended Breeder

Paul & Lee,
I sent you some pictures of our Olive today over my phone from my camera phone.  I also took some better ones on the camera, but will have to wait until Randy gets home to send them to you.  I don’t know how to put them on my computer.  She got her first grooming today.  The groomers loved her and said she was an angel.   I had her cut short because of the warm weather, and she is just precious!
Anyway, I wanted to just thank you for the beautiful, even tempered, great dog that she is.  She’s very smart and has learned so much in just one week since we got her.  It’s obvious that you guys truly care about your puppies, for her to be socialized so well!   Everyone that has met her, just oohs and ahhs over how adorable she is, but also her temperament.  So good!  Our cats took to her immediately!  They can just sense she is not a threat to them.  My other dog Gibson is a little jealous right now.  He’s had been the king around here, and he’s not liking having a princess to compete with, but he’ll get over it.  They play great together, and with time, she will turn into his best friend, I have no doubt about it.  She fit into our household immediately, and is a joy.

Thank you again,

Judy Joppie

Thanks Again!

Paul and Lee,
Our puppy came to us in amazing condition. We picked her up at the
airport opened the kennel because the staff at Northwest were dying
to see her. When we opened the door our little Maddie came out and
imediatly attached herself to my wife's side. We thought that maybe
the flight scared her and she was just looking for anyone to snuggle
up too. We have had her for a week and nothing has changed. She is
still that sweet and lovable pup that came out of that kennal a week
ago. You guys have made our lives so much easier. Our little Maddie
is already trained in so many areas. Thanks Lee and Paul. It is
obvious to our family that you two put a lot of time into this pup. I
also wanted to thank you for answering all the questioned that I had
regarding your pups. My wife and I are extremely happy. We got
exactly what we were looking for and more. If you have anyone here in
Orange County inquireing about your pups feel free to give them my
number. My wife and myself would be more than happy to showcase
Maddie to anyone looking for YOUR Labradoodle's.

THANKS AGAIN!!

Only The Best from St. Clair Kennels
Lee--
Just wanted to let you know that Montana ("Monty") is doing great.  The biggest surprise is how much my husband likes him!  He has a great temperament, and he and the cat are even getting along so far.  They just sniff each other and walk away!
Elizabeth has been wonderful with him -- gentle and attentive, with or without her medication.  And she is so proud!  Monty follows her (and me) everywhere.  I can already tell that he is good for her.
Thanks again!

Awesome!
by K. Duke
I have had Jesse now for three weeks. I went and picked him out and then two weeks later drove from Cleveland to St. Clair Kennels to pick him up. Not enough can be said about how great Paul and Lee are and how well they run their kennel. They love each and every dog - coming or going! They welcomed me both times I was there and did not rush me in my choice. I certainly couldn't be happier. I received a well-cared for healthy puppy who is a joy!. The love he was shown while at St. Clair has certainly shown through. Everyone loves him, everyone wants to know what kind of dog he is (breed) and everyone wants one! He follows me everywhere in the house and is a true companion. I would not hesitate for a second to recommend Paul & Lee's St. Clair Kennels for adopting a pup.

Fluffy is a Charmer!
by S.Rowe

Hello Lee & Paul,
We know how hard it is to get good pictures of black dogs.  We got some great pictures of Fluffy and wanted to share them with you.

Also, we are now living in New York and when Diane last talked to you, she was under the impression that Fluffy's sister was with a family in New Jersey.  If it's OK with them, could you get us their contact information.

Thank you very much for breeding such a wonderful dog.  She brightens all of our days and charms everyone she meets.

Evaluation Questions:
1. Have you adopted a dog from this organization?
Yes - 1 Weeks ago
2. How much research did you do before choosing this breeder?
Spoke to all or most of the reputable breeder of labradoodles
3. What made you decide on this breeder?
Answered questions honest and straightforward. Always accessible. If they treat their customers with the amount of respect the showed us, you know they do the same with the pups.

Below are comments this person has left about this organization:

Donna the kids and I couldn't be more delighted with Hershey. The pictures did not do her justice. It's
been only three days and I have already been stopped numerous times by people asking about the breed and stating she is the most beautiful dog they have
ever seen. Bypassing cars have stopped dead to look at her. Moreover, she does not shed.

And her personality matches. She is so loving and smart. The first day she was a little shy-maybe separation anxiety or jet lag, but by the end of the
second day, we were all hooked.

Having been a dog owner almost my whole life, I have never experienced receiving a puppy that was already practically house broken. After five days, she has made few mistake (really my errors) and even asks to be taken out side to do her business. She holds it through the night, already knows her name and already knows SIT, COME and FETCH. She is just now starting to get DOWN

The whole experience has been great. Paul and Lee, whatever you are doing, you are doing it well (one pup at a time). Keep up the good work.

Yes - 3 Months ago
2. How much research did you do before choosing this breeder?
Quite a bit.
3. What made you decide on this breeder?
After reading about St. Clair Kennels in the Chicago Tribune, we talked to Paul ad Lee over the phone. They encouraged us to visit their kennel. We did and found that they were extrememly helpful in answering our questions. Their dogs were well cared for and they raised beautiful dogs.

Below are comments this person has left about this organization:

We have a great experience with St. CLair Kennels. Paul and Lee have been wonderful. They are organized, informative, responsive and helpful. We believe that being a breeder is a labor of love for them. All their puppies are crate trained which make it easier on their new families. Our puppy is almost 4 months old and he is a a nice addition to our family.

Evaluation Questions:
1. Have you adopted a dog from this organization?
Yes - 4 Months ago
2. How much research did you do before choosing this breeder?
Read article in the Chicago Trib in Oct. Then started doing research on the Standard Poodle and the Lab mix. Emailed the St.Clair breeders and started asking questions.
3. What made you decide on this breeder?
Quick response and willing to work with us. Honest and upfront, seemed to truely care about the dogs and the pups.

Below are comments this person has left about this organization:

Kona was so quiet and passive when we picked her up and brought her home. But it only took about 3 days for her true personality to come out. She is so playful and has a great temperment.
We were able to completely house train her in about 3-4 weeks... which was incredible. She has learned many commands and behaves pretty good for a puppy. She loves playing with the little neighbor boys next door (ages 6 and 2). They have become fast and furious friends.
We took her to Lake Michigan last Sunday morning. There must have been at least 40-50 other dogs there. She did pretty well, she isn't afraid of the big dogs, but certainly doesn't like all the loud barking in her face. She did well on her first swim!
Her coat is so soft it is great. Big soft curls that you can run your fingers through.... which she loves to be petted. The best part is that she doesn't shed! We are enjoying that part as well.
Took her to the vet today for her second round of shots. She weighed in at 25 pounds. She is starting to lose her baby teeth now. But she has certain toys that she is allowed to chew on and leaves everything else alone!
Although she has gotten bigger, she still likes it in the morning when I lean down to give her a kiss, to wrap her paws around our neck and say hello to us.
Overall we couldn't be happier. Kona is a joy in our lives and I don't know what we did without her before!

Very happy with St. Clair Kennels!

Evaluation Questions:
1. Have you adopted a dog from this organization?
Yes - 1 Months ago
2. How much research did you do before choosing this breeder?
I researched different breeders via the internet.
3. What made you decide on this breeder?
Their quick response either by phone or e-mail. If I had a question, they always responded within 24 hrs. Also the location.

Below are comments this person has left about this organization:

I found out about labradoodles from a Chicago Tribune article (Oct. 2001). My husband always wanted a big dog; I wanted a dog that would not shed. I feel in love with the labradoodles. I tried to contact breeders for both labradoodles and goldendoodles. Paul and Lee responded to me instantly. I was told I would be on a long waiting list, and was surprised to hear from them much sooner than later. We were informed from the time the mom was pregnant, when the mom’s temperature dropped, shown puppies from 1 day old, 3 weeks old and 5 weeks old. Paul and Lee helped us out with the puppy selection (as I had many questions). I also had a situation (scheduled vacation) where I could not pick up the dog until the 10th week. Paul and Lee were very accommodating. They even sent me pictures from 6 weeks up to the 10th week (so I would not miss out on my puppy’s progress). I have been very happy with St. Clair Kennels.

Yes - 2 Weeks ago
2. How much research did you do before choosing this breeder?
We checked 2 breeders of labradoodles
3. What made you decide on this breeder?
I asked for references and St. Clair was given glowing reviews.

Below are comments this person has left about this organization:

We couldn't possibly be happier with a breeder. From the first moment we contacted St. Clair we had a feeling that we had made the right choice. Paul and Lee are very patient people. No question was unimportant or too small. Once the puppy's birth was iminent we were kept in constant touch via email and telephone calls. Every aspect of this 'adoption' was handled professionally. Photos of the pups and parents were provided to us and we were kept updated constantly on the puppy's progress until the time we picked him up. Our puppy is a very happy, healthy little guy,
St. Clair's is the type of breeder that all other breeders should strive to be like.

i can't say enough nice things about st. clair kennels. first, they respond by phone or email almost instantly. they are helpful, responsible, and highly ethical. they are concerned about the welfare of the animals they breed, and also, about the people that purchase their breed. their house is clean (i think almost immaculate), and paul and lee (especially) are helpful, eternally patient, and do everything they can to please. they are interested in happy clients and pets, and matching the two together. lee spent almost an hour with me helping me decide on the right puppy for my situation. her patience went on and on. anyone searching for a labradoodle, will find this breeder 'THE BEST'.

Evaluation Questions:
1. Have you adopted a dog from this organization?
Yes - 1 Weeks ago
2. How much research did you do before choosing this breeder?
We thoroughly researched the breed
3. What made you decide on this breeder?
After speaking to three breeders on the telephone Paul seemed to be the easiest to work with

Below are comments this person has left about this organization:

As anybody who as ever met a Labradoodle knows, these are wonderful dogs. They combine the temperment and affection of a lab with the cleanliness and intelligence of a poodle. We live in California and were supposed to meet our puppy, Daisy, at the airport on Saturday Setember 15. Well, Tuesday, September 11 was not only a national tragedy, but the beginning of a potential tragedy for us. The FAA had severely restricted all live cargo. Evidently, a number of animals suffered terribly when aircraft were grounded for hours after the disaster. Paul tried for days to get Daisy on an airplane. Finally, he offered to send us our deposit back, and give us first choice of the next litter. As it turned out Paul and Lee somehow got Daisy on a plane. She arrived at our home ten weeks old and already crate trained and, as far as we know so far, house broken. She is sitting at my feet as I write this. I just can't say enough good things about Paul and Lee's extraordinary effort. Dealing with them has been a wonderful experience and our Daisy is the perfect dog for us.

Evaluation Questions:
1. Have you adopted a dog from this organization?
Yes - 1 Weeks ago
2. How much research did you do before choosing this breeder?
Indepth via the internet
3. What made you decide on this breeder?
His availability of puppies and US location

Below are comments this person has left about this organization:

These breeders care a great deal about their dogs and the homes they find for them. Our puppy has obviously been loved, socialized very well, has begun the process of crate training and housebreaking. Our puppy's temprament is So calm and assured. He is also beautiful and was granted a clean bill of health (along with many breed questions and oo's and ahh's) at his first vet visit.
In the midst of this horrible national tragedy (terrorist attacks), Paul and Lee kept trying to find ways to get the puppy to us. They worked with us, laughed with us and worried with us about whether or not we could pull it off.
We are so glad we did and look forward to watching our St. Clair Labradoodle grow, develop it's personality and show-off its breeders thoroughness.

Everything went smoothly!

Evaluation Questions:
1. Have you adopted a dog from this organization?
Yes - 5.5 Months ago
2. How much research did you do before choosing this breeder?
Somewhat extensive
3. What made you decide on this breeder?
Among other things, I wanted a puppy no older than 8 or 9 weeks. The Australian puppies must be 12 weeks before they can take the long journey. Since this breeder is only 6 hours drive from me, I could pick up my puppy, at 7 weeks. I was also able to visit the breeder, and the puppy, 2 weeks before I picked her up. St. Clair kennel also guarantees the health of the puppies, with respect to genentic eye and hip disorders.

Below are comments this person has left about this organization:

From the first contact, it was easy to deal with St. Clair kennel. I got prompt responses to all inquiries, and I was welcomed to visit ahead of picking up my puppy. At one point, when there was a minor concern about the health of the puppies (everything turned out to be normal) Paul immediatly informed the prospective owners. In general, Paul was very businesslike and pleasant to deal with throughout. I was shown the AKC pedigrees of the parents at my first visit, and was assured that the parents bloodlines are free of inherited diseases.
